Fog photos are often associated with bad weather. But not so in the Brazilian winter. This is especially true for the Atlantic coast.

Winter is dry season south of the equator. The air is extremely clear, the nights very cool and the daytime sun draws everything in razor sharp contours.

Especially in the early morning, when the sun is already rising behind the horizon, there are very special moments in the bay of Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro.

Like here in the colonial city of Paraty.

Early in the morning, just after sunrise, these two local fishermen rowed out in a canoe to their nets from the previous night.

Near the beach, all the fog has disappeared, and the contours of the seabed at low tide can be identified with razor sharpness. The two fishermen are also rowing in the zone without fog. But just ahead of them, a little further out to sea, there is still a uniform layer of fog that swallows every sound.

The sailboats anchored in the bay have fallen dry. No wind gets caught in the structures, no wave, however small, can be heard.

Behind the scene

Photos also always tell a story. Mostly it is left to the viewer to tell the stories to himself, based on some basic information.

We want to dress the story of the two fishermen here in a short story and encourage you to continue telling the story of the two in your head. This short story was written by an AI application. It was based on the blockchain link on OpenSea, which analyzed the image and geodata.

Buyers of the NFTs should not be afraid to tell their own story.

What did you feel when you looked at the photos? Who are they to you?

Since Childhood

The two fishermen, Paulo and Miguel, had been fishing together for years. They had been friends since their childhood in the small fishing village of Paraty, Brazil. As the sun rose on a cold winter morning, the two men rowed their small boat out onto the Atlantic. The thick early morning fog still hung over the water, but the sun was slowly rising, giving the two men hope that the day would be fruitful.

Paulo and Miguel had been fishing these waters for as long as they could remember, and they were confident that today would be a good one. They knew the perfect spot to drop their nets, and set to work. They worked quietly, with a rhythm that only years of experience could bring, and soon the boat was filled with the sound of the net being pulled through the water.

The sun was now out, and the ocean was far calmer than it had been in the early morning. The two fishermen had brought a small lunch with them, and they took a break to enjoy the view. The air was still thick with fog, but they could now see the shoreline in the distance. They spoke of their families back in the village, and of the stories they had heard of the great catches that had been made here in the past.

As the sun began to set, Paulo and Miguel cast their nets one last time, and began to pull them in. To their delight, the nets were full of fish – a great catch for the day. They loaded up the boat with the day’s catch and began to row back to shore. The sun was setting now, and the fog had begun to creep back in, but the two fishermen were content in the knowledge that they had had a successful day’s fishing.

As they arrived back in the village, they unloaded the fish and began to prepare for the night ahead. They had much to celebrate, and they shared stories and laughter until the sun had set and the night was dark. They had made a good catch, and their friendship had been strengthened. Paulo and Miguel knew that tomorrow they would be fishing again, but for now, they went to bed content, ready for the next day.
